About JMW

JMW is a specialised agency run by brothers Jon and Andy Warner. Their intention is to excel in results focused marketing strategies for their clients. According to Jon - "the aim is simple: to work closely with our clients and implement a tailored marketing plan that will take them where they want to go. When they see results, we have then proven ourselves as a sustainable resource to them and their business".

Together Jon and Andy have over 50 years experience in advertising and marketing strategies ranging across print, radio, TV and online.

The Warner Family Heritage

The Warner family has a long history in the adverting industry starting in 1928 with Jon and Andy's Grandfather, Phil Warner, being one of the integral founding members, and then first president of the Australian Association of National Advertisers (AANA). Their father, Broyce Warner, then became president of the organisation in the late 60's, which makes Jon & Andy extremely proud to be able to carry on a strong family tradition and maintaining a strong relationship with the association today.

In 2008, the AANA recognised the Warner family's strong advertising heritage by naming their lifetime achievement award after Phil Warner.

Jon Warner

Jon, Director of JMW, has over 20 years experience in sales and marketing. A majority of those years were spent in commercial radio stations throughout Sydney, in particular, WSFM where he set many sales records for the station - most of which are still unbroken today.

In 2005, Jon left the radio industry to focus on expanding JMW in order to encompass all facets of media, whilst working with his clients to be able to create long term marketing strategies. He is proud of the results the company has achieved so far. To Jon it’s the proven longevity of his relationship with his clients – some for over 10 years – that gives him the most pleasure. What exactly does this mean to Jon? “To be working with a client for that period of time means you long ago made the jump from service provider, account manager or sales rep to a valuable member of their marketing team”.

Andy Warner

Andy has spent over 30 years in the advertising industry - 25 of those years have been spent in various print mediums.

Having started out with a small publisher of trade magazines, he then spent five years with one of Australia's largest advertisers and most successful retailers, working in their Advertising Department across all facets of their media streams, catalogues, display, press, radio, magazines and TV even some media buying, giving a great grounding early in his career.

Andy moved into media selling after spending some time in the fine paper industry dealing with graphic designers and advertising agencies. Having started in Outdoor he then spent the next nine years at The Sydney Morning Herald, honing his skill set across many facets of the Display advertising arena, sections, special reports, recruitment, he was overseeing all weekly sections and special reports before moving on from local press to international media.

Working with media representation houses, Andy learnt much of the business of dealing with and selling of offshore titles which were many and varied, to the Australian marketplace. During this time, working on some of the best known newspaper and magazines titles across the globe, Andy built up an expertise with the New Zealand market working on all their daily newspapers, both metropolitan and regional, so that when APN News & Media expanded into New Zealand Andy joined them and was able to set up, develop and run the international division of their National Sales operation. Major APN NZ titles included The New Zealand Herald, NZ Woman's Weekly, The Listener, Simply You and a number of regional newspapers as well all their digital offerings. Also included in his responsibilities while at APN were Independent Media's South African newspaper titles and The Wall Street Journal.

Andy brings a wealth of experience, particularly in print media, to JMW complementing the mix of marketing solutions that we provide to our clients.

Tim Warner - The Kiwi connection

Tim began his advertising career in 1984 working on the highly respected transport publication the now defunct Truck and Bus Transportation. After setting records there he moved on to the Fairfax group where he worked on insert magazines from TV guides to trade show publications and a wealth of other titles. He has worked on several trade and interest publications and spent time in offset printing and film colour separation.

Tim has worked with major corporations, media agencies and small business believing at all levels that client needs are paramount – large or small, and enjoys working along side people to achieve the best possible results. Having run his own small business for over 13 years he knows the value of good advertising and marketing. Using his industry experience allowed him to rise to the top of his profession gaining a reputation for unbeatable results and satisfied clients. His secret to success - unequalled quality product and service supported by quality work and attention to detail. "Isn't that the key to any achievement?"

Now working on the right side of the Tasman he understands that the market in Aotearoa has its own set of special needs.

Janine Warner - Design
